With the rest of the RP sections doing pretty well, I was thinking we could expand on it a little. Hence this 'Pilot Diaries' area.
In this area, players who want to, can keep a journal of one or more of their in-game characters. Each character would have their own diary, in which they can make a short entry on a regular basis. This doesn't have to be every day or once a week for example, but as often as your time and inspiration permits.
The final goal is to create journals of several (hopefully a lot of) in-game characters, that would give readers a really good picture of the character's view on the Sirius world, how he perceives the things around him, what keeps him busy, what goes on in the minds of these characters, etc. etc. This will hopefully add to the overall RP experience on the TT forum, and especially give a good impression of the main in-game RP characters to new visitors to the forum.
There's a couple of things we have to keep in mind when posting here, so we keep it an interesting and easy to follow area for everyone.
I'll explain how it's going to work.
- Pilot journals are personal in nature. Please keep that in mind and don't post in / reply to other people their journals.
- Naturally, all posts made in the 'Pilot Diaries' area have to be made 'In Character'. This will be strictly moderated. Would there be a need for an 'Out of Character' section to discuss certain subjects, we could consider adding one. But generally, I want to steer away from any OOC content in this section.
- When opening a diary / journal (ie. starting a new topic), please title the topic after the name of the character the journal belongs to, nothing more. You are free to add a topic description of your choice.
For example, the diary of the in-game character Black Scorpion would be titled 'Black Scorpion', and could have a description like 'the journal of a defiant Corsair'. - You are free to keep diaries of as many of your in-game characters as you like.
For example, I could have diaries of Black Scorpion, Jack Reaper, John Booth, etc. Or you could stick to just your main in-game character, it's up to you. - When you decide to keep just one diary, please use your main in-game character for it, so other people know whom it is about.
- Please keep in mind that entries should be pretty short, certainly not as long as some of the other RP stories on the forum. This is to make sure that the journals are easy to read through and people don't back off when they are faced with a wall of text. It will also allow those members who like to make RP posts to contribute to the RP experience on the forum more often, while not having to spend hours of writing every time they do.
Although this will not be strictly moderated, I will keep an eye on retaining this concept.
I will keep this topic open for the time being, so people can share their view about it and ask questions.
