Hey Teks crew I just wanted to drop a line to see whats going on. Again all i see is posts from players and nothing on the server status, I know its somewhat running because i see it on the global list everyday. I know there are RL issues that have all turned in other directions so you can save that line for the feeble minded folk. I would just like an answer to a simple yea or Nay on this project you so started a long time back. Some of us here still play this game now and then and are growing tired of devoting time in OUR lives to wait for an outcome that seems hopeless at this point in time.

I dont mean to sound rude but your intentions seem to that of someone f--king us players in the arse and you dont even have the common curtisy to even give us a reach around. Me , i never been the one to give or take any kind of verbal masterbation. You'd have respect no matter the answer if you just came out and said what is or isn't going to be. For the amount of time its taking you , 2 no name gaming companys produced 3 crappy games. So what is it deal or no deal so i can finally get rid of this last pc i have and retire from this once and for all.

I dont usually post a great deal on the forum but I have just about had enough of people whining like my ex missus. Answer is yes, we are still working on the new mod and as it has been said before we are taking it right back to the bones. for example at the mo Rags and Spirit are working on the "Empathy" of the game regarding factions. for those who dont know this is what your actions will bring about in game if you kill npc's regards your rep. In revenge, you will not (or i better say "should" not ) be able to get neutral with all factions unless it is given out by an admin. it is one of the bigger jobs we have to deal with and it takes time. Im working with Lucifer on the commodities and the trade runs etc. once again massive job. we have not even started the ship models we have yet. huge job. we have not started the weapon balance. huge job again. so thats about it for now on the main points, then we will have the eye candy stuff to do, system backgrounds, effects etc etc

So you see, we are working hard but still a long long way off yet.

And stop stealing lines from Full Metal Jacket !!!

Well said Iceman.... people/players think that it's a quick job to do this modding ect-- but far from it the game play on TR is going to be like no other and yes to do this is going to take time, to set a time for when this is done is not a thing we can say so if you're not willing to wait around so be it IMHO people.....

If players/people have other bone to chew then I say go chew them,

Not sure how this will go over and I know it was tried before, but I'll make the offer anyway. I have a server box that I currently run a small modded FL server on. If you guys would like and the mod team is willing I could switch the server over to tekagi's. There would be a few caveats though, 1 you'd all be starting from scratch with chars (not that money was hard to make) 2. There wouldn't be alot of adminning as I don't have alot of spare time for my own mod work let alot policing you bunch of hooligans . I also don't have a voice server so your on your own there. Or you could come mess around in my world

Well ice for first I wasn't whining , leave that to your ex, all i was posting was that there isnt any activity at all except for some player i havent heard of, If the mod is being ripped to the bone , that is impossible because no one has the copyright to the exe. empthy can be altered with a a simple proggy thats been around for quite sometime , so your reach around didn't even get me off . Its been awhile since anyone has heard anything about progress , a line or two for those of us that still pop in here once a day to see if anything has happened would be nice but i guess thats way tooooooo much to ask for. First of all, Hi peeps.

Ok I see there are issues arising, Ill try to help.

Iceman, Spirit and myself are the only ones that are coding on this project, so it is taking longer than we wanted it too. There are others helping but they are doing other work, like images, stories, rumours etc etc, but its the three mentioned that are putting it into game.


Iceman is fully correct with what he said, we have taken Tekagis and basically rewritten it from the basics. At the present moment there are NO errors in the server files and the player files we have made sure of that by being very careful. Spirit has now completed the system, she and I are now onto the factions (npc) and their Empathy, this is not an easy task, but its going to balance out the Factions. As most of you know in TT they were really out of order and some factions where white or green to others when they should not have been, this is changing as we are in the middle of changing them.


Iceman and Lucifer are nearly finished the commodities and the new monitory system.


We still have the ship balance to do. then its adding the new planets and bases.


As soon as the new faction Empathy is added I will be at this stage opening the doors to some of you to test out things.. Yes there will be thing to do still, and we are working to get its done as fast as we can..


BUT PLEASE REMEMBER we are only a small group and we do have RL to deal with as well as doing this..


The invitations will probably go out to peope at the end of this month as we should have factions finished by then... The people that are invited to help will have to expect updates on a regular bases as the new Autoupdator is on its way to us soon. when that is out it will be easy to update the mod.


One thing I would like to say is, we have to remember that Freelancer is now 10 years old and the player base is smaller than it used to be, so we are treating this as a project, something to do as a group of people that know each other very well.. we are not going to be pressured into doing this in a couple of weeks, the only outcome from that would be the same as TT turned out.. I know that you dont want that.. so please just let us get on with it.

Well Akira, if you want to have a go at me then that is just fine, but lets iron a few points out first. When did I say we were taking freelancer back to the bones ? exactly I didnt, we are taking the MOD back to the bones. As Rags said, ALL errors in FL server are now removed so it is stable. That does not mean the info cards etc are error free, they need doing by hand. As for the Empathy, yes it can be changed by a simple proggy , , , its called notepad and its the only sure fire way to make sure the rep system works.

The reply I gave to you earlier I thought was a small update. Yes we dont post everything we do on here, as its already been said we all have a RL too. Some times we go days without doing anything, then we all get back to it. And as for your last comment, I do hope that was a joke . . .

If that was directed at me Akira watch your lips son I was playing this mod well before you or C.O.P. were wet dreams around here. I've shed tears with most of the admin team both of joy and sorrow and I consider them friends and comrades.

If you don't like their pace jump in offer to help, in fact that goes for anyone who wants to whine and ######. Even if it's editing the info cards (a job I've been working on for 2 weeks and counting for my next update) you will save them countless hours and actually contribute something instead of making them waste time arguing with you and explaining the same thing over and over and over and over.... if you don't know anything about modding head over to starport and start learning

Ok I can see where this is going and i'm gonna leave it alone, Maybe my orginal post came off as agressive but that was not the intentions i had, And just to clear things up with peoples conceptions of whinning , it would be justifiable to flame someone who posts something of this nature on a regular basis , but to do it just cause someone who is still deeply interrested and wanting to stay "invovled" in the community AND who hardly posts at all about anything is just dumb and immature. Doesn't matter if your the sys op , a 10 year veteran or a 10 minute noob , your not any better than the next guy , all you have is just time invested into a game. and with that I'll go back to my side of the universe.

Hi Akira you go around things the wrong why buddy and sometime come across as if you are having a go... this I see was not your intention. If you ask we will say what's going on I'm sure, with everything that's been going on in the last 10 months we are not posting up every day what we are doing..... as to flaming myself I didn't see this at all

P.S. I've posted up about System pilot's and no one's come back to it so I could have a go but I'm not, also the new Icons are looking kool and no one come back that also I could get mad and Ratty about this but hayho
