when targeting a npc freighter of new design, i switched the HUD display on the bottom left to lattice display.
the one for targeting subsystems. the game started running in slo-mo and freezing between the frames untill i maneuvered my mouse icon to switch back to normal display...

I think the model was called aurora something...
