If only that was true, you see, I have been "dead" for over 7 weeks now, well, presumed dead. Nobody dares to come and look for me, simply because I am a dangerous pilot. I was shot down by an unknown force, heavily out-numbered and heavily out-armed. As my System navigator says this area is truly unknown. I am as blind as a bat in this unknown system. I shall post these diary extracts in hope that some daring pilot out there will find me. This is where the story began:

I had just left my home planet to start a new life, outside the comfort zone of New Athens I saw the vast system that I was raised in. I had only just received my pilots license from :::CLASSIFIED::: base. I had made my way to Tripolis to see what deals I could get for a cargo-hold full of dairy products. I had been assigned this mission by the Athenian Government in order to pull our home out of debt.

Athens is home to many worlds which are all incidentally habitable due to the Terra-formation process of 2552 and have all over time declared their own independence and established their own research facilities and governments. Ever since the final independence war of 2845 everything seemed peaceful. Athens became a marvellous place with new ship designs, new technology, new weaponry and faster than light travel. Athenians soon became the most technologically advanced people in Sirius.

But in recent years, there has been an invasion of mass proportions over at the Planet located to the far right of the system. The Corsair alliance has taken over that quadrant and it has been locked off to prevent other attacks.

Ever since then our System has become bankrupt due to the lack of trading to and from the planet. The greatest amount of cash we could get was dairy products which were in short supply over at Tripolis. Even then we did not get a lot of money, and our Warp travel could of sent us anywhere, so we did not dare to leave Athens. I got a 10% cut of the trade run. it was enough for me. For now.

I had just finished another scheduled run from New Athens to Tripolis, and after much effort I was granted a Hunter License. It may seem odd how I am renowned as a killer among the vast region of Sirius, but I will reveal later on.

I was extremely excited by my new license, I got much praise by other workers for earning this fantastic reward. It was a true honour to wear that badge. New Athens was still in terrible debt, and the Corsair Invaders have started to do surprise attacks on our convoys. Ever since Convoy # 5325 was shot down, the Athenian Government stated that no ship is allowed access into space without a power-plant. I thought this was so we could move a little bit quicker than the Corsairs. I tried out my new Athenian power plant. I was able to fly at an amazing speed of 600 m/ph. Things are starting to look great around here.

A new base was being built outside of Athens, with the Athenians gaining the upper-hand on group trade-routes the Athenian Government gained enough income to produce a new base and ship. I was ordered to test this ship out, it was called the Snowball II and they were thinking of making it a standard fighter ship for the members of Athens. I tried it out and I agreed that this ship should be used on the field.

But it was not enough. Despite its cruise ability and mind-boggling speed of 900 m/ph, the Corsairs had received a sample of the Snowball II from an undercover spy. They soon designed weapons that could tear open the Snowball II like Madcat does with a ball of string. What was more concerning was that they developed a new type of missile unkown to any faction in Sirius. It was named the Wasp Cruise Disruptor.

We were all doomed.

After I received my monthly pay of 1 million credits, I felt like the richest man in the universe, I recently bought myself a new ship named the Thunderbolt. It was capable to carry weapons, which was a great advantage since the Corsairs released their new cruise disruptor. I mounted on my weapons, which were top secret as I had been ordered to use them for field-testing to make sure they packed a punch. They surely did.

Exploring the interior of my ship I noticed there was a generator that was not mentioned in the manual, I activated it to see what it did, with my ship in auto-pilot I had no worries about crashing into anything. I was suddenly knocked to the ground and a burst of light blinded my vision. The auto-mated voice inside my ship said clearly "Shield Activated."

It was a heroic perk of my new ship.

Ever since finding out my new shield, this day could not get any better, I was just passing Yithion, all trade lanes had been locked down due to the Corsairs pirating any convoy they could so it took me just under 3 hours to get to my destination. The Corsairs sent a signal to the Athenian Government stating that they will move on from Planet Mitabrev to Tripolis if their demands are not fulfilled.

With Athens already being over 300 billion credits in debt these demands were nearly impossible to do. They demanded 2 Trillion credits to boost their research of inter-stellar travel with a device they called a "Jump Gate".

I was given the honour to take control of my own convoy, consisting of 2 Pachyderms and 3 small fighters. My ship was the most technologically advanced out of them all as it was the only ship to carry mobile weapons and a shield. Only a handful of pilots flew this magnificent ship within Athens, all controlling their own convoy.

The only inter-planetary weapons available to us at the current time (other than the Thunderbolt's capability) were bombs and lasers. They hardly did any damage.

As me and my convoy went past Kalamal we were ambushed. They came out of nowhere! It was like some sort of cloaking device. I received a radio transmission from what seemed to be the leader of the ambush. It was strange, we monitored Corsair signals from Mitabrev and these signals were different from the Corsair signals.

I dared to answer. I have never before seen a Corsair ship. So the ships that had uncloaked and surrounded us were completely unknown to me.

Before I answered the signal I unlocked the trade-lane back to Yithion so that my convoy could get away at the first sign of danger, but there was no danger at all. We had developed within recent years a universal translator, but these beings spoke the same language as us.

As soon as I declared peace among them, they gave themselves a name, Druids. This was odd, but I decided not to question them. They told me and my convoy they had technology that could finally defeat the Corsair invaders. I contacted home and told them about these new strangers.

I took them back to Athens after we finished and sold the dairy products to Tripolis, they were anxious to declare an alliance between us and them. We hesitated to do so, but every time we thought to say no the thought of another attack by the Corsairs rang through our minds like a bell.

We accepted.

I had been allocated as the Athenian ambassador to seal the deal with the Druids. This place was only temporary, I could have sworn it was because they did not want any of our politicians to die.

I felt betrayed by my own people, I was the first Athenian to ever leave the system via a Quantum hole in spacetime. Or more commonly known as a "Jump Gate". The Corsairs had the gate placed to jump to a star we have been monitoring closely, Naxos. Strange signals had been coming from there that we could not de-code.

To get to Naxos, the home of the Druids, we first had to tackle the guards of the Jump Gate. I took a few fighters to take them on, after a gruesome battle only I was able to jump through to the Naxos system. I sure have a lot of explaining to do when I get back home.

In order to get back home I needed access to new technology to cloak my ship from radar and visible view, I thought I would be able to do this seeing as they seemed to own a cloaking device when my convoy was ambushed. Seeing as this new warping technology was primitive, it took me a few months to get to Naxos through the Corsair's jump gate. I was told upon arrival at the Druid's base that they had the technology to send me anywhere in a flash.

This was a relief, as I am the current leader of the trades going on in Athens I was worried that without my assistance or navigation the crew may get shot down. Athens was in enough Debt as it is and their is a risk that the Corsairs may move on to attack Tripolis and Kalamal. My head was spinning, I did not know what I was getting myself into.

I received blue prints for many things, jump gates, quicker trade lanes, base plans and a lot more. I was relieved when I got home, I couldn't wait to show everybody the new blueprints which could help us finally win the war agianst the Corsairs.

I was in for a shock.

As I approached my home planet all I saw was a planet that was charred with smoke and fires. I travelled over to Yithion, that lay in ruins too. Kalamal and Tripolis were all dead.

All that I ever knew and all that I ever loved was gone. I swore revenge on whomever did this. I instantly pointed my finger to the Corsairs. I travelled to the secret military base in the asteroid field, this was the only place left in-tact.

As I entered I demanded to know what happened. It turns out we were not destroyed by the Corsairs, they have been gone for months. It was a much more serious matter.

I gave them the blueprints but they had no supplies to build any of this equipment... Except for one.

I set out to find a location for this priceless object, this could be the end to our misery, we could start again somewhere.
I placed the Jump Gate to an unknown system. We fled without a thought.
We had to get away from the invaders who were much stronger than we thought.
The Ven will pay for this catastrophe.

After 2 long years of searching for our new home, we finally found something that was the right size and right distance away from its star for us. It turns out that this system was already taken by a force known as the Liberty Navy. It was strange, these beings also spoke our native tongue too, I was beginning to doubt that humans evolved separately on Athens and that there was a much bigger story behind of it.

Being the negotiator among our base I landed on this mysterious and friendly planet. I was greeted with friendly faces and adoring smiles. I looked to the left of my parked ship and clearly saw a ship of some sort standing verticality in position. It stood taller than any building on the planet, its majestic size and beauty almost swept me off my feet. These people did not evolve here, it was obvious. If a ship was to ever be designed and it was that big, it would be a carrier sent to flee from a loosing battle so that the people inside could start again.

The Liberty on the front on the tower stood out among the rest of the body. Liberty, something was familiar about that very name. Liberty.

It then struck me, it was an anagram of Bil Erty, the famous green statue that stands tall over the city of New Athens, well, did stand tall over New Athens.

I instantly knew there was some mutual connection between this planet and my home.

I finally had an appointment to see the New York government. I was surprised to see that their features were remarkably similar to mine. Like another Human civilization had set off for this world.

I had to under-go a DNA sampling test to prove who I was, the rest of our people were taking refuge at West Point Military Academy, this was good as they could train to become real pilots, like me. Once they confirmed it was me I was stood face to face with the President of this gigantic system. They set out to do some testing on the blood sample. Once I had spoken to the President about this race's origins I was shocked to hear they originally emigrated from a Planet named "Earth".

This struck me hard. Earth was the name of the Athenian God that looked over our home- now dead - system.

As soon as I left I was suddenly struck to the ground. "American" Guards had held me down . I had no idea what was going on, but I received a message on my I-P-S-M-S (Inter-Planetary-Secure-Messaging-System) stating that they had discovered out DNA was 99.999999% similar to theirs. I was taken to a white room.

The next thing I remembered was waking up, I felt like all of my internal organs were salvaged. Fortunately this was not the case. They took over 10% of my blood for testing and had put me under medical supervision. I had a scar over my eye, it didn't bother me much until I found out they decided to bust open a vein underneath there that could of potentially killed me.

Overall, I was pretty optimistic about this, although my crew situated at West Point had suddenly vanished, I wondered what happened to them.

I am starting to get suspicious.

Well, now you know how I became a pilot in the first-place. I had to abandon my ship as it was attempting to put me into a cryogenic sleep. I stumbled across a majestic building with a title that appeared to be in solid gold.η κληρονομιά. I had no idea what this meant.

I couldn't recognise the language because my native tongue has been English for the past 20 years.
I entered the crumbling building and it was void of life. A lot like my home planet. I picked up the only object that appeared presentable and it appeared to be some sort of ancient bible. It was in English much to my surprise.

I read the first page.

Alas the Τελευταία Αθηναϊκή will stand before the mightier force, sword in hand, heart pounding like a drum. He took a daring swing toward the beast and succeeded in his efforts. Peace was restored to his land. This did not go unpunished as suddenly the creature gave out a final swing toward the Τελευταία Αθηναϊκή and destroyed him.

Τελευταία Αθηναϊκή. What did it mean? And whomever it is was worshipped by these people. This seemed more like a prophecy than a bible. I wanted to read on but I had to get back to my ship.
Something was stirring up in the clouds above me, they swirled into a gigantic vortex as large as a city. I began to run for my life until I stopped dead in my tracks. It was the most majestic, but yet most terrifying thing I had seen in my life.

A large, blue ship appeared in the sky. It looked like a battleship. A Nomad battleship. I didn't care if my ship was going to freeze me, I had to go NOW.

This was impossible, the Nomads were killed years ago. I had no time to think about it, I HAD to get back to my ship. I initiated the startup sequence and I was off this world. My efforts were not-long lived. The battleship began to fire the main plasma cannon and wiped the building clean off its foundation. I rose up off the ground but it was too late. I was caught in a tractor beam.

Somebody please help m-------------

Well, happy new year. If only that was true. I have escaped from the hell that was New York and ended up in this barren system. Everything in here seems hostile, with 3 natural jump holes leading to Shikoku, Roboticus and Colorado. I decided to stay in this one system for now.

Since I had betrayed the Liberty Police, the Liberty Criminals (Or Sometimes referred to as the Liberty Rouges) decided they would let me into their base situated in the asteroid field located around 4-5 sectors right of the main star. It was a nice base and I had wondered why the Police labelled these people fugitives as they were all really nice people. I decided not to ask questions as I was foreign and one wrong move means death.

This nifty little base was a lot bigger than perceived, it had a ship on there named the Razor Mk II which was a great fighting ship with 8 gun mounts, a shield, a counter-measure drive, a cruise disruptor drive and much more than my Thunderbolt.

As much as I loved this new ship, I nearly cried over the thought of leaving my Thunderbolt. I had done so much and it was the only reminder of my home system. But this was the time in which I needed to survive so I payed the base 2 million Sirius credits to leave my ship there for when I wanted it back. I left the base on a mission to negotiate with the people at the Assasian's guild base toward the right end of the system so that the Rouges could gain some vital information on better ship research.

Little did I know that my mission would end so quickly.

As I approached the base, the Ven stopped me in my tracks. These were the people that destroyed my home world, or so I thought. I killed them all too easily and it was obvious they did not have the strength to destroy a whole system, it was a larger force.

But the twist was yet to come. As I un-docked from the base after 2 hours negotiation I was stealth attacked by an unknown force and my ship was almost destroyed. I ejected from my ship in hope they wouldn't notice and that the rouges will discover me. But they caught my body in a tractor beam and I knew that I was going to die.

As I got on board I was escorted to the cockpit. The captain, named Ragman, told me I was to join the -=CDU=- or I would die right there in front of him. I had no choice but to accept the offer.

I was then told that Ragman had seen the destruction of Athens and told me the Ven were not responsible and were nearly destroyed when the Nomads attacked Athens. I deemed revenge but I was dubbed a fool for even saying that. I was then escorted to a recruits' cabin so I could rest.

For deeming revenge on the Nomads all the recruits named me Crazy, I liked the thought of this nick-name but I thought it was a bit childish. But the nick-name stood and the next day I received my tag.

A proud member of the Coffee Drinkers Union: Crazy.

I had mixed feelings about this sudden event.
