This is just something I did for on my end.. It won't be going in as a regular ship, YSP only

I have put together an "add-on" for the TT universe. its a piece of something I would like to see more of in the updates to come.. It is a standing CITY model, somewhere in the universe... I will be adding it to the server tonight if there are no forseeable complications. I will have an upload link for the addon sometime later tonight, after I insert the city to its mystery location.

Yaman, im reopening this whole project again. Ive put it off for too long farting around with other things not-freelancer. The cities themselves work fine. Im just having some invisible ceiling issues i dont quite understand yet LOL.. I dont actually 3d model. I picked up milkshape & pestered some friends until i knew sorta what i was doing LOL. I will put the cities up in a link. They will be playable on a vanilla install. theyre already in thier folders/ sub directories, and just need to be copied on like a mod. theyre not pretty by any means. but theyre close enough to manhattan to pick up some npcs & have a half assed urban combat flight

So, for the past month now. we have been on the dedicated box all seems to have gone well. So m8's, Tekagis now has a permanent home as long as this dedicated service exists & continues to honor my subscription I hope to see the community grow into what it once was, but for now. Its good to have it back.

The remote server has been launched in its trial run. I would like as much feedback as possible from the community as to how its working in other areas of the world. The admin team consists of canada/ usa connections. For players elswhere (ie europe, australia, far east, etc..) It would be very usefull the next few weeks if you could post any/ all variences you notice from the old server, to this one. Thank you all for your continued patience. There is no community without you.

The last couple weeks I have been in talks about a off-site dedicated server. So over the next few days (hopefully less), I will be copying stuff over, and with the help of fen & zero, we will see how this dedicated server performs. If all is well, we will be moving to a dell OptiPlex 780 2.20ghz 5 gb ram 160gb hd sata 2. This will allow ME to finally connect & play as well so, fingers crossed m8's heres to the future....

The "New" server, is an older but decent laptop. It was originally made for windows 7, but I don't like 7, so i forced XP upon it. Much to its disapproval, but i got drivers for everything The link below is to what best resembles this "NV" 53. It doesn't enjoy full screen applications, or actually PLAYING freelancer due to some odd overheating issue. I took it apart and scrapped some heat paste from another old CPU, smushed it on and jammed it back together. That fixed its "overall run time" overheating, so now it can remain on indefinitely. But it doesn't like working the screen too hard or it restarts itself. Soon ill be getting a tube of my very own heat paste tho. So im hoping that will keep it cooler than old p4 paste from the closet computer. I do have other options tho if this fails, so don't worry about the shabby condition of things. I have a good hammer and another couple laptops if this thing dies on us

Today with the help of Fen, we moved the server onto a new machine. The new server has close to 8x the ram, and roughly twice the processing power than the former.  Both fen and myself have seen some increase in overall appearance/ performance in high gfx situations, so I am hoping players will notice some differences in the gameplay. 

Thanks to everyone for getting TT back online.. Since the server has gone back up, ive started learning how to actually mod...  the last few days ive been playing with a few models.. i thought iwould share that here    

Since we are running the mod with a different server operator, there are going to be a few issues we would like players to avoid at this time. As most of these issues will crash the server. Thank you for your patience.

List of know errors are...

1. Cloaks do not work, and most likely if your ship HAS a cloak, it is by default invisible. If your ship has a cloak. The cloak will have to be removed from the ship before flying. Players found with a cloaking ship will have cloak removed upon discovery. Fixed by Fen's 5.48.3 update. 

2. Texas Jump Gate to Alabama. The jump gate to Alabama seems to outright crash the server. Please do not use this gate at this time. Fixed, silly me forgot to apply the 5.48.1 update.

 

3. NO MINES NEAR ADMIN PARKING!!!! Something is funny with admin parking and does NOT like the proximity mines of any kind.. if a mine is dropped TOO CLOSE to the parking, it will crash the server... Fixed? Hasnt been an issue lately. But please mind your mines just in case..

 

4. Bases in Shark will still sometimes beam you into the sun upon launch. Be Warned.

 

5. Battleships & Oversized freighters can dock at some small bases. And usually get stuck on them upon launch. F1 may or may not un-stick you.

Heyman, Im doing it for all of us. And most of all Uni & the rest of the people who worked endlessly to bring us this mod in the first place. No matter where the mod evolves to from here, as long as the Uni memorial is online, my time here is worth it 

I just feel i should bump this post so that people can get the Flak mod as well

Howdy all! Ellis here. Its been a long time, I hope everyone had a merry christmas & happy new year Now to get long winded & sentimental... It saddens me to see the server down and the community disbanded. I was reading the latest news that said nobody was willing to host the server or put the effort into keeping it running, So im here to say that I would like to host Tekagi's Treasure. As far as i know, I am still waiting for rags to send the 5.49 server files and the flac necessary to put TT back online. Being in complete opposite timezones however, has made this incredibly difficult. I can only wait & hope for now.

IN THE MEANTIME. I am running a temp mod that demonstrates connectibility & reliability. I would like to have this replaced with the TT's (or Uni's Treasure) asap..

(EDIT!!! Now running 88flak mod through the 88flak portal site, or the link below. It is an older mod, but with the help of Neil, we managed to get it running AND visible in the gobals).

Thanks to all the admins, dev's and players that have made the Tekagi's community a memorable & lasting experience. So, Here's hoping I can give a little back to those left in the community who would like to re-populate or re-visit the Tekagi's Treasure Universe.
